- RFQ This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for supplies in which the government intends to acquire in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) located in Seattle, WA intends to acquire quantity of one (1) each Zebrafish aquatic housing system. The minimum specifications of the Zebrafish aquatic housing system need to include: a. Must be able to house 1000 zebrafish for long-term toxin exposure study b. The system must contain equipment that will allow for rearing of larval zebrafish to adult age for the study c. The system must automatically maintain constant temperature, water quality, and light environment throughout the 2 year study period d. The system must be healthy environment for fish and fully exchange the system water automatically on weekly basis. e. Zebrafish housing unit must have the following: 1. Fully-automated water quality monitoring with touch screen pad for easy manipulation 2. Fully-enclosed rack and tank system so it can be used in multi-use laboratory 3. Self cleaning tanks 4. Blue-tinted tanks that prevent algal growth 5. Fully automated light controlled system that can be set for specific light regimes 6. Maintenance support 7. UV Sterilizer 8. Temperature control 9. Breeding tanks and screening baffles The system must be delivered to NOAA Facility Seattle, WA by Nov 15, 2009. See NUMBERED NOTE 1, 100% Small business set aside. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The government reserves the right to solicit offers based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice. Only firms that can provide the exact items described herein will be considered. All interested parties must respond to this announcement within fifteen (15) calendar days of its publication.
