Description
The Gila National Forest in Silver City, New Mexico, is seeking sources to provide expert Hydrologic Consultation Services, on a Labor-Hour basis. The contractor shall provide a professional, skilled, subject-matter expert to assist and support the Gila National Forest’s participation in the 2005 Arizona Water Settlements Act (AWSA). The scope of work includes providing technical support and management planning related to the AWSA and includes attendance of meetings, management briefings, and review of scientific, statistical, engineering and technical documents with hydrologic emphasis (surface and groundwater). The contractor will interact with other Forest Service employees and or technical experts in the areas of fisheries, wildlife, recreation, and special use permits to communicate issues and technical information that will assist in successfully carrying out of the tasks of the contract. The scope of work may also include critical analysis of related data or research proposals, developing generalized recommendations and specifications with regard to Forest Service mission and management, and preparing and presenting reports that represent the people of the United States and National Forest System lands and resources. Depending on the successful offeror’s expertise and the availability of related work within the Forest Service, additional tasks that are not currently identified may be assigned. It is anticipated that a labor hour contract will be awarded for one base year and four option years through 2015 or approximately five years total. Contractors must be registered in Central Contractors Registry BEFORE a proposal is submitted. Proposals will not be considered without a CCR number. Registration can be done online at http://www.ccr.gov. The anticipated solicitation issue date: July 15, 2009. The closing date will be confirmed in the Solicitation Package.
