- This publication serves as notice of intent to procure supplies for the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service, Protected Resources Division located in La Jolla, CA on a sole source basis with Carpenter Microsystems. The government intends to acquire supplies using FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Proposed vendor will provide the following: Qty 1each CM-2 Microsampler with the following options: Epifluorescence Option (3 wavelengths) Mammal Tooth Option (accepts 0.25m meter long specimen) Transmitted Light Base Option (for stand alone microscopy) *** System includes: Research Quality Olympus SZX10 Microscope Various fiber-optic lighting accessories, Diagnostic Instruments Flex Camera (color CCD), Dell Precision Workstation with 24" Ultrasharp Monitor 1 Year of CM-2 Software Upgrades Installation and On-Site Training The Carpenter Microsystems CM-2 Microsampler is a state-of-the-art laboratory research tool that will be used to sample small quantities of bone, teeth for stable isotope analysis. This is the only device of its kind for stable isotope analyses that is currently on the market. It is a revolutionary integrated tool the links multiple devices to all sampling at 250 microns. The CM-2 uses Carpenter Microsystems software that is only interface program available for linking major components of the CM-2. The government intends to negotiate a firm- fixed price contract for delivery to NOAA Facility in La Jolla no later than July 30, 2009. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. This is a small purchase action estimated value not to exceed $100,000.00. ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) as of October 1, 2003. After this date, NO award can be made unless the vender is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov. In order to register with the CCR and to be eligible to receive an award from this acquisition office, all offerors must have a Dun & Bradstreet Number.
