Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC)-Iowa City, intends to issue an invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract to provide all tools, materials, equipment and labor necessary for completion of Recovery Act general construction project R636A8-10-001, Renovate Inpatient Medical/Surgical Ward 7 East," at the VA Medical Center, Iowa City, Iowa, in accordance with the drawings and specifications. Work will involve approximately 10,477 sq ft and includes demolition and alterations to walls, ceilings and floors, general construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing work, controls, telecom, security and nurse call systems, and certain other items. Work is to be completed within 300 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Specifications and Drawings for submitting a bid will be available at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. All respondents must be registered in CCR data base, see http://www.ccr.gov and complete online Representations and Certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov, along with Vets 100 at http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/. Bidders must be registered in VetBiz at http://www.vetbiz.gov/. Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at the http://www.fedbizopps.gov/ website. All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through this web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the web site to be entered on the Interested Vendors List and to obtain copies of the Interested Vendors List. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office, email: matthew.null@va.gov; fax (319) 887-4957. Issue Date will be on or about July 7, 2009. Pre-bid will be announced upon Solicitation issuance. Bid Opening Date will be on or about August 6, 2009 at 2:00 P.M., CST in Bldg. #21, Room #1B03f at the Iowa City VAMC, Iowa City, IA. NAICS Code is 236220, size standard is $33.5 million. Cost range is between $2,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. THIS IS A TOTAL 100 % SERVICE DISABLLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) SET-ASIDE.
