- Description. The US Army Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) under solicitation number W81GYE-09-R-0031 for Material Handling Equipment Tire Repair and Replacement at its location in Sunny Point NC. The awarded contractor shall provide a variety of tires used on Material Handling Equipment (MHE) / Container Transporting Equipment used on the Military Ocean Terminal-Sunny Point (MOTSU) installation. Tires will be recapped to industry standards and may be foam filled for specific applications. The vendor will provide storage of recapped tires until required by the government and will provide a web-based management tool for tracking tire usage, scheduled rotations and/or replacement as necessary. The contractor shall provide tire inspection services, preventative maintenance, tire rotation and tire repair/replacement. The contractor shall provide all required equipment, tools, personnel, materials, and supplies necessary to accomplish these services. The period of performance is for a one month base period and four, one year options. The anticipated contract start date is 1 Sep 09. The proposed solicitation is unrestricted. NAICS code is 441320. This solicitation shall be issued utilizing FAR part 12 commercial item procedures and evaluated in accordance with FAR Part 15. The solicitation will be issued on or about 1 Jul 09. The anticipated solicitation closing date is 1 Aug 09. Specific instructions shall be provided in the solicitation.
