- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a contract to the University of Florida, PO Box 110370, Gainesville, Florida 32611 in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1. The purpose of this project is to determine the normal patterns of DNA methylation and levels of uracil mis-incorporation and how these patterns change in response to folic acid supplementation and individual genotypes. The requirement is to utilize global methylation assay - liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry to determine the ratio of methylcytosine to cytosine. This effort requires the Contractor to have the capability to perform this technique to yield sensitive and reproducible results with inter and intra assay variation less than 5%. The reason justifying the lack of competition is that University of Florida is the only one source available that has the capability to perform this technique to yield sensitive and reproducible results with inter and intra assay variation less than 5%.The period of performance is anticipated to be a twelve month base year and one option year. p>This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals, however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which, if received by the response date, shall be considered by the agency. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
