Description
ARMY OPTIONAL DRESS SHIRT FABRIC Sources Sought: The U.S. Army Natick Soldier RDEC has a need to identify commercially available fabrics for potential use as an optional dress shirt fabric used by the Army. The fabric will be evaluated for use in a potential future user test. NO SOLICITATION CURRENTLY EXISTS FOR THIS ITEM. The fabric must be 100% produced in the U.S of 100% U.S. made fibers. We are not specific on the blend of fabric but we are looking for a herringbone weave. Some of the properties we are looking for are: Weight: Between 3.5 and 4.8 oz. with durable press and soil release finishes, durability in laundering, comfort on skin, low pill, minimal shrinkage and long service life. Fabric must be able to accommodate permanent creases using a silicone-based adhesive. The color of the fabric should be white, if possible. Companies interested in having their fabrics evaluated for possible future use by the Army must submit 5 yards (for testing purposes), along with an information paper (specification sheet) describing the fabric, to include such things as place of manufacture, location of source of fibers, blend of fibers, pricing information (cost per yard), any in-house testing data that is available and any other information that the company feels appropriate. The samples and information paper must be submitted no later than 31 August 2009 to Ms. Pam Moriarty, US Army Research Development & Engineering Command, Natick Soldier RDEC, ATTN: AMSRD-NSC-IP-A, Room D-226, Kansas Street, Natick, MA 01760-5019. All responses must be in writing. NO telephonic responses will be accepted. EMAIL ADDRESS: pam.moriarty@us.army.mil
