AMENDMENT W91ZLK-09-T-0449-0003 IS ISSUED TO PROVIDE ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS. THE CLOSING DATE OF THE SOLICITATION HAS CHANGED TO JUNE 24, 2009 @ 10:00 AM EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Quotations must be signed, dated, and received by the closing date and time, via fax at 410-306-3726 or email at susan.sowa@us.army.mil at the US Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division Attention: CCRD-AI-IC, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005-3013. Please provide any questions no later than June 23, 2009 at 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. For questions concerning this Request for Quotations contact Susan Sowa Contracting Specialist @ susan.sowa@us.army.mil. NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL BE HONORED. Please SUBMIT YOUR QUOTATIONS to Ms. Sowa via email to: susan.sowa@us.army.mil or Fax 410-306-3726. Question 1: Will a site visit be allowed.? This is necessary to help develop the quotation especially in terms of seeing the old unit, estimating how much stainless steel might be needed to enclose the wall where the old unit was placed and various other factors that need to be taken into consideration when preparing a quotation. ANSWER: Yes, A site visit is scheduled for Monday, June 22nd at 0900. Interested quoters who would like to attend the site visit, please contact Ms. Jacqueline Scotto via email @ jacqueline.scotto@us.army.mil Question 2: What is the make, model, and size of the unit to be removed and disposed of? ANSWER: It is a consolidated Sterilizer. Model #SR-24DMCV. Question 3: Is a cart and carriage needed? ANSWER: If this is regarding removal or installation, yes. Question 4: What will be the primary usage of this unit? ANSWER: Surgical packs. Question 5: Will this unit need to have MicroProcessor Controls, or will a Push Button Unit be acceptable. ANSWER: MicroProcessor controls. Question 6: The specification calls for a vacuum system, what type? Post or Pre Vacuum or both? ANSWER: Both. Question 7: If you are doing liquids at all, will a jacket blowdown be desired? ANSWER: Not doing liquids Question 8: Will RO or DI water be fed to this unit? ANSWER: No regular house water. Question 9: Must this unit be new, or will a remanufactured/refurbished unit be allowed? ANSWER: This unit must be new. Question 10: What floor is the unit on? Is hallway and doorway access unimpeded? What are access door heights and widths? If elevator use is necessary what is the height, width and depth of the elevator? ANSWER: The unit is on the second floor and the unit is 51 wide and 72 high. Measurements were taken from front of unit. Doors are 70 wide and 96 high. Elevator is 54 wide and 96 high Question 11: In terms of installation, will you accept delivery of the unit and hold it in a secure location until the installers can come uncrate it and move it into place and make the connections? ANSWER: Yes. Question 12: Are all proper utility and utility disconnects within 5 feet of the unit? ANSWER: Yes. Question 13: Please confirm that this unit will be running on the facilitys steam/boiler system and does not need to have its own steam generation. ANSWER: The unit runs on facility steam. Question 14: Is a loading dock available? What kind of access does it have? Will a truck with a lift gate be needed or not? ANSWER: We have a loading dock with a lift gate Question 15: Please let me know if building steam and compressed air is available on site. ANSWER: Steam is available Question 16: Where will this unit be shipping? ANSWER: USA RDECOM ECBC RDCB-DRT-V, E-3150 North Kings Creek Road, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21010 Question 17: Is the sterilizer listed in Solicitation Number: W91ZLK-09-T-0449 supposed to be recessed in the location of the existing double door sterilizer and the wall to be finished off with trim panels? Or is the sterilizer going to be a free standing unit with cab. ANSWER: The unit will be free standing. Question 18: Since you mention some very specific dimensions on this equipment, could you please provide us with the manufacturers name you are referring to, and as for the dimensions you provided us of : 20x20x38 :are these outside dimensions or chamber dimensions ? and if they are outside dimensions, what are the chambers dimensions? ANSWER: The manufacturers name will be determined upon the award and the inside dimensions are 20x20x38. This is a standard size.
