- Description
- The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) intends to award a sole source contract to the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business, Center for Research in Security Prices (CRSP), 105 West Adams Street, Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60603, for standard and derived historical data on U.S. common stocks, U.S. Government bonds, mutual funds, and basic market indices. The SEC requirements include: data on U.S. common stocks and closed-end mutual funds listed on NYSE, AMEX, and NASDAQ; concurrent access to the aforementioned and to extensive company fundamental data; descriptive and market data on U.S. Government bills, notes, and bonds; data on active and inactive U.S. open-end mutual funds; and U.S. market indices on daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual index frequencies. This is a renewal contract action. Services received from CRSP include: (1) CRSP 1925 US Stock Database, Monthly, which contains end-of-day and month-end pricing data on all listed NYSE, Amex and NASDAQ common stocks along with basic market indices and distribution information. (2) Daily and Monthly CRSP US Treasury Database, Annually, which contains returns and index levels on the US Government Bond Fixed Term Index Series and the Risk Free Rates File. Data begins in 1925 for month-end data and in 1961 for daily data. (3) CRSP Survivor-Bias Free US Mutual Fund Database, Quarterly, which contains complete database on active and inactive mutual funds beginning at varying times between 1962 and 2003 depending on data availability. (4) CRSP 1925 US Indices Database, Monthly, which contains five groups of CRSP indices: the CRSP stock File Indices, the CRSP Cap-Based Portfolios, the CRSP Indices for the S&P 500 Universe, the CRSP Treasury and Inflation (CTI) Indices and the Andex Treasury Indices. (5) CRSP/COMPUSTAT Merged Database, Monthly, which allows for concurrent database access to CRSP’s stock data and Compustat’s fundamental data. The CRSP Link accurately maps complex, many-to-many relationships over time between CRSP’s unique permanent identifiers (PERMNO and PERMCO) and Compustat’s GVKEY code. The period of performance shall be for one base year and four option years. The SEC intends to negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1; Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Interested organizations may submit their capability statements and qualifications for the provision of this requirement. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurements. This is a Notice of Intent, not a solicitation. No solicitation will be issued for this sole source requirement and no other information will be provided.
