Description
Humidity / Temperature stability chamber specs Create one climate controlled chamber (humidity and temperature control for stability) with interior dimensions of at least 18x18x24 inches, with shelving for holding wood samples to condition to specific moisture content. The chamber should run off 208 V 1 phase 60 Hz power, with a deionized water inlet and drain connections for humidity creation and control. The unit should be of rugged construction to withstand hot and cold conditions with both high and low humidity interior conditions as further specified below. The interior must be stainless steel to resist corrosion and all doors, ports, and windows must be well sealed and insulated to maintain interior conditions and provide a long service life. At least one port must be included to allow wiring access to the inside of the chamber while it is running. A window is not needed. The unit should use extremely accurate temperature and humidity sensors and provide sufficient air flow along with a robust control and conditioning system capable of holding a stable temperature set point within 0.2 degree C and humidity set point within 1 % RH uniformly inside the chamber at all points and times after initial stabilization. The control system should make it simple to enter desired RH and temperature control set points, provide user feedback, and use RS232 or similar means to allow remote control and monitoring of interior conditions with a computer. The unit should allow temperatures between 5 and 85 C with relative humidity between 10% and 93% RH and include a dryer allowing all temperature and RH combinations to be reached with the same stability and uniformity specified above regardless of exterior conditions.
