- Description
- Response Date; July 8th, 2009 Primary Point of Contact (POC): Curtis Cook BAA Coordinator Curtis.cook@navy.mil (301) 995-4668 You are invited to the integrated Network Enhanced Telemetry (iNET) Industry Days, hosted by the iNET Project Office (https://www.inetprogram.org/default.aspx). iNET Industry Days will take place July 15th and 16th in the Orlando Airport Marriott, located at 7499 Augusta National Drive, Orlando, FL 32822, Tel. 800-380-6751 (http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/mcoap-orlando-airport-marriott/). iNET is creating a telemetry network system that consists of wired and Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) wireless networks. As such, the target audience is telemetry and wired/wireless network vendors/manufacturers. The purpose of this event is to increase awareness of contracting opportunities in support of the iNET Project. Recognizing the inability of current telemetry technology to meet emergent needs within the Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB), the Department of Defense (DoD) Test Resource Management Center (TRMC), via the Central Test and Evaluation Investment Program (http://www.acq.osd.mil/trmc/jipp/cteip/index.htm), launched the iNET Project. The iNET Project has taken a systems engineering approach to create an architecture and a set of standards to enhance traditional aeronautical telemetry via networking. iNET Industry Days will focus on the planned Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) scheduled for release in the fall of 2009. The Government anticipates there will be a total of $7M to $10M funding for more than 10 individual efforts. The overall objective of this planned BAA is to: " Prototype and/or simulate components compliant with the emerging iNET standards. Initial versions of the standards will be publically available prior to the BAA release. " Reduce risk for a planned Request for Proposal (RFP) to deploy iNET at multiple MRTFB sites. It is anticipated that a draft RFP will be released in the fall of 2010. Registration for this event is free. However, registration is limited to three (3) representatives from any organization. Those planning to attend must register by emailing full name and organization affiliation to the primary POC listed above. The deadline for registration is July 8th, 2009. Additionally, on the second day a limited number of 20-minute time slots are available for individual meetings (no more than three [3] organization representatives) with the iNET Project leadership. These meetings will provide participants the opportunity to further clarify understanding of iNET and its related standards. Offerors are expressly prohibited from using the individual meetings to showcase their organization, products, or services (no sales pitches). To reserve one of these slots, contact the Primary POC listed above. Requests for individual meetings will be accommodated on a first-come-first-served basis and MUST be made via email. Participation in Industry Days is NOT a requirement for future participation in any iNET BAA actions. Please address any questions to the above listed point of contact.
