Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION: Filter Testing Capabilities The Joint Project Manager for Individual Protection (JPM-IP) is conducting a market survey to determine the current and future filter testing capabilities of laboratories. Capabilities of interest include, but are not limited to: "Level of experience (if any) in testing the following Chemical Warfare Agents (CWAs) and Toxic Industrial Chemicals (TICs): ChlorineSulfur dioxide AmmoniaPhosgene Hydrogen cyanideHydrogen chloride Sulfuric acidHydrogen bromide Hydrogen fluorideOMPA FormaldehydeMethyl bromide MercuryCyanogen chloride Nitric acid/Nitrogen dioxideHydrogen sulfide GBHD "Ability to test additional CWAs, TICs, and/or Non-traditional Agents (NTAs). "Description of current filter testing capabilities. Including: a.Test capability across a broad spectrum of environmental conditions (i.e. temperature, relative humidity, common battlefield contaminates, etc.). b.Test Methodologies: Filter testing, tube testing, others c.Airflow profile: constant or simulated breathing d.Effluent monitoring: Real-time or cumulative e.Detection techniques f.Capacity "Description of possible future filter testing capabilities. Please provide a white paper (10-page limit) explaining the capabilities identified above. Include additional supporting documentation as applicable. After all white papers have been received and reviewed, proposals may be solicited for further Government evaluation for future characterization studies. The response date for this RFI is 26 June 2009. All responses should be submitted to the Program Office points of contact identified below. This is not a Request for Proposals, Invitation for Bid, or an announcement of a solicitation. This request is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be considered as a commitment by the Government. This document will assist the Government in identifying potential sources. Response to this RFI is strictly voluntary and will not affect future ability to submit an offer if a solicitation is released. The Government may award purchase orders to further investigate capabilities identified in responses. The Government will not release any information marked with a Proprietary legend received in response to this RFI to any firm, agency, or individual outside the Government without written permission.
