- Scope: C-1: C-1.1. This Statement of Work (SOW) establishes and sets forth tasks and identifies the work that shall be performed by the contractor for the following cabinets: A. Oversized Flat Tray Storage Cabinet (90"w x 90"d x 90"h) with 35 trays. B. Oversized Flat Tray Storage Cabinet (90"w x 90"d x 44"h) with 17 trays. C. Freight and installation. All questions that arise during the construction process that are not covered in this SOW shall be directed to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for review. Upon completion of the project, the museum shall be notified for final inspection and acceptance. C-2 BACKGROUND: C-2.1 The National Museum of the Marine Corps acquires, stores, preserves and exhibits the material history representing the Marine Corps history from 1775 to the present day. In addition, the museum educates Marines on their tradition, supports the efforts of command museums at posts and stations, as well as serving as a source of information for Marine veterans, the academic community and the general public. The collection covers the history of the Marine Corps and includes uniforms, flags, small arms, edged weapons, medals, accouterments, art, vehicles and weapons. C-2.2 The foundation of any museum is based on its objects and their proper care. Proper storage and accessibility of a collection is paramount in preserving objects. Storage must also maximize space and meet unique needs. These specialized oversized storage units will help to preserve the Marine Corps historic flag collection. C-3 APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS: C-3.1 The following documents shall be made available upon request: C-3.1.1 What historical data does exist will be made available to the contract, especially in the terms of Flag Regulations. C-4 REQUIREMENTS: C-4.1 In fulfilling the specified requirements, the contractor shall: a. Transport units to be installed to Building 710, Quantico Virginia. b. Construct units to specified sizes with requested trays: 90"w x 90"d x 90"h with 35 trays, and 90"w x 90"d x 44"h with 17 trays. c. Use anodized aluminum construction that is lightweight and provides maximum rigidity, durability and mobility. d. Use material that is inert, completely non-reactive with no off-gassing. e. Use no paints or applied finishes. f. Have four high quality, lockable casters on both cabinets. g. Use two (2) cloth doors both front and back on each unit that are full height and width. Material is inert, Dacron polyester with snap and Velcro closure. Doors will be detachable and washable. h. Trays shall be easily accessible and fully removable from both the front and rear of the cabinets. i. Have the anodized aluminum, structural frame welded in all four corners to guarantee tortional stability. j. Fit each tray with inert, plastic anti-friction guides. k. Maintain contact, by phone, mail or in person, with the COR in order to resolve difficulties, make decisions or revisions to the schedule/coordination of installation. C-5 PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: C-5.1 The contractor shall complete the project no later than 30 August 2009. C-6 INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE: C-6.1 The final inspection and acceptance shall take place upon completion of installation cabinets. C-7 CONTRACTOR FURNISHED MATERIAL (CFM): C-7.1 Contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment and supplies needed to fully carry out the requirements of the project.
