- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to GE Healthcare Bio-Sciences, 800 Centennial Avenue, Piscataway, NJ 08855 for AKTApurifier 10 chromatography system with flow rates of.001 to 10 ml/min at pressures up to 25 MPs. The purifier includes Model P-903 system pump with four pump heads in two pump modules, Model M-925 mixer for precision gradient formation, Model UV-900 variable multiwavelength UV-Vis detector 190-700nm, one INV-907 injection valve, control box CU-950, Box-900, Unicorn software package, and system start-up included, #28406264. In addition, purchase includes 18102385 150ML Superloop; 11003599 Fractionation kit with one PV-908 motor valve, PEEK tubing and connectors, and instructions large volume fractionation; 28404473 Bufferprep kit with two switch valves SV-903 with holders, tubing and connectors for 10ml/min and 100ml/min systems, and instructions for SV-903; 18117740 Frac-902 Fraction collector which can be used as stand-alone or with Unicorn-controlled AKTA (Fraction size can be.1 to 100ml with event marks. Operates at +4 to +40C. Max flow rate 100 ml/min. Comes with tube rack for (95) 18mm diameter tubes and tube rack for (175) 12mm diameter tubes, and with optional flow diversion value FV-923.); and 11003595 Column Screening kit with two PV-908 motor valves, tubing and connectors, and instructions for column selection. For optimum use in laboratory, product MUST provide protein separation and subviral particle separation necessary for large-scale purification. This item is an integral and required component in a multi-step protein and viral particle purification protocol that is under development with the Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory. The purified protein and particles are critical reagents utilized in diagnostic testing for arthropod-borne viruses. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued.
