- This publication serves as notice of intent to procure supplies and services for the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Services, and Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center located in Honolulu, HI on a sole source basis with The Sexton Company, LLC. The government intends to acquire supplies and services using FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This procurement is for customized pressure housings, battery packs, electronic, and other hardware to support the integration of underwater Ecological Acoustic Recorder (EAR) instrumentation. This specialized equipment is capable of prolonged deployment at ocean depths of 30+ meters. Proposed vendor will provide design, fabrication, repair, alteration and refurbishment of previously deployed EAR equipment and also supply the following items:1.) qty 15 each SHALLOW EAR-60M HOUSING S/N: 9300xxx with 6 battery packs, 2.) qty 5 each SHALLOW EAR-60M HOUSING S/N: 9300xxx with 12 battery packs, 3.) qty 1 each PERS-CF2 PERSISTOR, 4.) qty 1 each PERS-BIAHD PERSISTOR, 5.) qty 250 each BATTERY PACK ear-7xd cell,10.5v, 20.5ah and 6.) Qty 1 each HYDROPHONE SQ26-01. The Sexton Company was the original designer of EAR pressure housing, hydrophone mount, battery configuration, and electronics carriage assembly. The engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation required to machine and fabricate these items are proprietary to The Sexton Company. The government intends to negotiate a firm- fixed price contract with delivery date of no later than Sept 30, 2011. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. See NUMBERED NOTE 1, 100% Small business set aside. This is a small purchase action estimated value not to exceed $100,000.00. ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) as of October 1, 2003.
