- U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), The Environmental Measurements Laboratory (EML), 201Varick St. 5th Floor, New York, NY 10014, is seeking information about providers of equipment and products for radioactive decontamination of building surfaces by Surface Blasting/Pressure Washing, Chemical Extractants/Coatings and Mechanical Scarification to meet the needs of emergency responders. The Department of Homeland Security Authorized Equipment List (AEL) item numbers for this equipment are: 08D2-04-SOLN (Solution, Decontamination, Site, Not For Personnel); 08D2-03-TDED (Equipment, Technical Decontamination - Dry); 08D2-03-TDEW (Equipment, Technical Decontamination - Wet). The target audience for this information is personnel at government agencies and/or contractors to such agencies who would be involved in the decontamination of buildings in the event of a release of radioactive materials. All submittals should be suited to the target audience’s specific needs. This information is being gathered for DHS, Directorate for Science and Technology (S&T) and DHS Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Technology Support Branch System, Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) Program. DHS established SAVER to conduct comparative assessments and validation activities that provide the emergency responder community with information on important products and services. Visit the SAVER Program Web site at https://saver.fema.gov for more information on the SAVER Program. All information received will be treated as public knowledge and may be used in SAVER Program documentation; therefore, vendors should not submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. Specific information sought includes: 1. Company information, including name, address, point of contact, and URL. 2. Whether the company is a manufacturer or distributor. 3. Product name and a brief description 4. Cost information such as purchase price. 5. Product specifications The submitted information will be evaluated for inclusion in SAVER projects and reports. Determination as to an individual product’s suitability will be made by the Environmental Measurements Laboratory based on the objectives of this request. Be advised that the survey is specifically for providers of equipment/products intended for the decontamination of radioactive building surfaces. Vendors may be contacted following submission for more detailed product information. Vendor provided information may be reformatted for publication in SAVER Program documents. Submittals Respondents are required to complete product summary questionnaires found at http://www.eml.st.dhs.gov/saver. There are separate questionnaires for (A) Mechanical Scarification, (B) Surface Blasting/Pressure Washing and (C) Chemical Extractants/Coatings technologies. Respondents should choose the appropriate questionnaire for their product. A separate questionnaire must be completed for each product. This RFI is for information gathering and planning purposes only, and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or solicitation of an offer. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
