Description
THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Department of Veterans' Affairs, Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital located in San Antonio, TX intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source contract with AM Goodson Company to provide: Boiler plant upgrade. The equipment in the Kerrville boiler plant is unique and requires work by a representative of Vapor Power which is the maker of the Thermal Heaters in which the above work is to be accomplished. The only representative in Texas is the AM Goodson company. AM Goodson company knows these units well and has been servicing and repairing the units since they were installed in 2003. AM Goodson company would be the only company that could do this work in the timeliest manner. In order to be fully compliant to the VAMC Boiler Plant Safety Testing Evaluation performed by the Boiler Efficiency Institute (BEI), we must complete the upgrade in the timeliest fashion. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6. 302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all information received by 9:00 a.m. EST, 22 JUNE 2009, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. NAICS 221330 with a size standard of $12.5 million. No solicitation document is available. Telephone requests will not be accepted. Interested parties may e-mail information to larry.dunkin@va.gov.
