- Description
- The notice for this project No: 526-08-115, Replace Boiler Plant Floor at the JJP Bronx VAMC. This shall be a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside (SDVOSB). As a result all SDVOSB's may submit a bid, which shall be considered by this agency. This project is classified under the NAICS Code 238120 and has a size standard of $14 Million. The Cost Estimate Range for this project is between$1,500,000.00 and $3,000,000.00. Scope of Project consists of, but is not limited to: The scope of this project is the replacement of the structural floor for the chiller plant located on the first floor of building 101 at the James J. Peters V.A. Medical Center, 130 W. Kingsbridge Road, Bronx, NY 10468. The contractor will be responsible for the removal and replacement of the existing Chiller Plant 1st floor slab and all equipment pads. The equipment currently supported by this floor will be disconnected electrically and mechanically and removed, stored and reinstalled upon replacement of the structural slab. Work includes the disconnect of chilled water pipes, condenser water pipes, electrical connections(including 4160V and 480V units), steam pipes, gas pipes, control wiring, compressed air lines and exhaust breeching. The contractor will be required to store all equipment in a safe location and reinstall after the installation of the new structural slab. A secondary floor area will be ground down and a new surface applied. The contractor will be required to provide construction lighting, temporary passage doors, shields for sprinkler heads, temporary fire alarm horn/strobes and emergency lighting in compliance with NYS Building Code and VA Life Safety Codes. The contractor will be responsible for providing temporary chillers to provide cooling for the duration of the project. It is estimated the work will be conducted during the winter months between November 1 and April 1 to minimize the cooling requirements. It is estimated the temporary chiller capacity at 2200 tons of chilled water. The contractor can determine the exact make-up of the temporary plant. The temporary chillers can utilize the existing chilled water pumps and condenser water pumps. The contractor will be responsible for removal of all debris from the site and compliance with all VA rules and regulations All other details and information shall be contained in the solicitation which shall be posted on www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation will be released on or around July 23, 2009. The Bid submittal address, date and time will be included in the solicitation. This project requires bonding and all bid submissions shall be in hardcopies; faxed or e-mailed bids WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. All bidders must be registered in www.ccr.gov, www.vetbiz.gov, and www.orca.bpn.gov. ----END OF DESCRIPTION-----
