Description
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, South Texas Veterans Healthcare System, Audie L. Murphy Division, intends to award a sole source consignment contract with 1 base year and (4) one-year options for renewal to MAQUET Cardiovascular LLC for an inventory of vascular grafts to be used for vascular system repairs. MAQUET Cardiovascular LLC will provide VAS Abdom/Thorac Grafts and VAS Peripheral Grafts under this consignment agreement. The manufacturer of this brand name was found to provide the products that best meet the salient properties as determined by the STVHCS Surgical Department in meeting the needs of patient care. The MAQUET Cardiovascular Hemashield graft, according to the journal of Vascular Surgery is the only graft on the market that is collagen impregnated. After implantation, the body recognizes the implant as natural and allows uniform tissue in growth into the graft within the Aorta. Also, the collagen found with these grafts comes from only one source. This is considered to be a point of quality control. MAQUET Cardiovascular LLC also offers the only full line needed to include anatomically correct sizing in bifurcated sizes. They also offer specialty branched grafts for open thoracic aneurysm repairs. This agreement is being conducted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation subpart 13.501(a)(1)(ii), test program, using simplified acquisition procedures. This sole source consignment agreement is under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(5) and 38 U.S.C. 8123. This notice is being provided in accordance with OFPP Memorandum dated April 17, 2006, Publication of Brand Name Justifications.
