Description
Presolicitation Conference Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Information Management Services (CIMS) Solicitation Background: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), is planning to award contract(s) for CDC information management services (CIMS) as a follow-on to a series of similar IT service contracts that have been in place since the mid 1980's. CDC plans to issue the request for proposals (RFP) for this contract in the summer 2009, with contract award anticipated for mid 2010. A Request for Information (RFI) was published on FedBizOpps and was open from February 27 through April 18, 2008 and resulted in 36 industry responses. A Request for Industry Comment (RFIC) was then published on the FedBizOpps website and was open from February 5, 2009 through February 27, 2009 resulting in 40 industry responses. Both sets of industry responses have been very helpful in CDC's effort on formulating this next generation contract. This notice announces the availability of the draft RFP for CIMS which is not a complete RFP, e.g. does not include all the terms, conditions, and contract clauses, but does provide the essence of the statement of work, cost and pricing structure, and evaluation criteria. Please be advised that this draft may change based on further industry feedback and continued CDC refinements. Presolicitation Conference: CDC plans to host a presolicitation conference for interested offerors. Attendance is not required to submit a proposal. The purpose of the conference is for CDC to provide additional information about this solicitation and address some common industry questions. Conference Logistics: Location: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 1600 Clifton Rd. Failure to preregister will result in prohibition from attendance. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. CDC is soliciting questions and comments on the partial draft RFP during the presolicitation conference but also encourages questions to be submitted in advance. Please send questions to CIMS@cdc.gov no later than June 29, 2009. Questions and comments received will be valuable to CDC in finalizing the RFP and may be addressed as time permits during the presolicitation conference. Contractors will be given an additional opportunity to submit questions following the posting of the finalized RFP. All questions must be submitted to CIMS@cdc.gov.
