- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake CA intents to enter into full and open competition for geological and thermochronological investigations at Eastern Lava Mountains, Almond Mountain and Southern Slate Range Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake CA. The contract shall be a firm fixed price contract. The effort shall be two-phased, phase one will be for resource identification and locations and shall consist of four parts - 1) geologic field study, 2) fault trenching, 3) thermochonologic sampling and analysis and 4) geologic modeling. Phase two will be for resource refinement, drilling support and other exploration and shall consist of further geologic field studies. thermochronologic sampling and analysis and a refinement of the geologic model and shall narrow the study focus and build upon the results of the Phase I studies. Additional information will be available in the Statement of Work, which is included in Section C of the Request for Proposal (RFP). Phase I will have a performance period of one year, phase II will start at the end of phase I with an additional one year performance period. The RFP will be available on or about 22 Jun 09. The RFP shall be available on the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website at http://www.neco.navy.mil and the FBO website at http://www.fbo.gov/. All responsible sources will be considered by the agency. Contractors must be registered in the Contractor Central Registration (CCR) database to be eligible for award. CCR website http://www.ccr.gov. Contract award is anticipated to be on or about 15 Sep 09. The offeror selected for award will be the offer that is most advantageous to the government based on a best value evaluation.
