Description

The Naval Oceanographic Office, Stennis Space Center, MS intends to issue a sole source award to Excel Meridian Data, Inc. in Carrollton, TX under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c). This is a requirement for the purchase of two (2) NetStor WSS Quad-Core R2 NAS File Server. These servers are proprietary to Excel Meridian Data, Inc as the company is the manufacturer and there are currently no known authorized resellers. These servers have the configuration and compatibility that is suitable for the current systems and cannot be replicated. This action will be conducted in accordance with FAR 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The resulting contract will be firm fixed-price. NAICS Code 334119 and Business Size of 1000 employees apply. This synopsis is published for informational purposes only and is not a request for competitive offers. Any inquiries concerning this requirement are to be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. See Note 22.
