Description
The Armaments Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC) located atPicatinny Arsenal, NJ is looking for companies with the capabilities and facilities to provide COTS gunfire detection system upgrade kits for the existing United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) PILAR Gunfire Detection System (GDS) inventory. The USSOCOM intends to apply for approval of a Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) project (www.acq.osd.mil/sts/fct) to evaluate candidate GDS upgrade kits. USSOCOM is interested in contracting with vendors who are currently using the most advanced GDS system capabilities to include: mapping capability, GPS grid coordinate solution output capability, advance night camera capability and gun barrel navigation capability. The government may decide to acquire for testing purposes one or more vendor products that appear to meet or exceed the stated criteria. Responses are requested of those suppliers who can provide 1 fixed GDS upgrade kit and 1 mobile GDS upgrade kit ready for test and demonstration purposes on or about 1 October 2009 and capable of meeting the following criteria: 1) required capabilities need to be integrated into SOCOMs existing GDS inventory and 2) systems need to meet the same performance requirements of SOCOMs current GDS inventory. Responses to this market survey are due on or before 19 June 2009, and must include a product description with performance parameters and a statement regarding current availability, summary of prior testing, test reports, summary of logistic and maintenance requirements and an estimated cost for the price of test articles and production units. Please provide name of firm, address, POC, phone/fax number, and email address. Submit data of the item to the Armaments Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. This synopsis does not constitute an Invitation for bid or Request for Proposals, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the government to issue an order or otherwise pay for the information solicited. No further information is available from the contracting office.
