Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst NJ intends to enter into negotiations, on a sole source basis, with PDI Ground Support Systems, Inc (PDI) of Cleveland, Ohio to modify contract N68335-07-C-0061, to procure Interim Support Item List (ISIL) items/components in support of an effort to re-build the front axle of the A/S32P-25 Shipboard Fire Fighting Vehicle. These items/components are derived from a list of items/components that have the potential of failure during the 2 year interim support period. With these items/components readily available, the front axle will be able to operate at full capability and will continue to support major mission requirements for the United States Navy. PDI is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for this front axle design. Therefore, PDI can currently supply the required ISIL, engineering data and retrofit the fielded vehicles in the most expeditious timeframe. PDI Group has made substantial investment to acquire and maintain technical data and tooling to manufacture the A/S32P-25 front axle. Any deviation from this standard could jeopardize the mission readiness and capability aboard United States Navy ships. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate this requirement under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any and all responses must be received within 15 days of this synopsis notice. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on the responses received to this synopsis is solely within the discretion of the Government.
