- THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER THE "RECOVERY ACT: IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RECOVERY ACT IL.(Recovery) Community Living Center Renovation: The following requirement for A/E design services to a conduct a feasibility study for Renovation of the Community Living Center at the VAMC Spokane is advertised as "information only" and is limited to the contract awarded to Zeck-Butler Architects, P.S. of Spokane WA, under the facilities ID/IQ contract. Provide all labor and materials to conduct a renovation feasibility study in the CLC (Community Living Center - previously known as the Nursing Home Care Unit.) The intent of the feasibility study is as follows: This contract requires the a complete site investigation and assessment for the feasibility of a remodel of the Community Living Center building to address infection control issues related to shared rooms, bathrooms and congregate showers: use new VA transitional living design criteria to remodel a portion of the building where living quarters will more resemble self contained "suites"; use VA design criteria to remodel a portion of the building to upgrade the facilities but maintain in a more traditional extended care setting; Add additional space for dining/activities off each wing of the facility; remodel nurses station etc.; address potential HVAC upgrades and other energy control improvements (e.g. windows) to improve energy efficiency within the building; A/E should work with local AVISTA Power to solicit ideas. It is not the intent of this study to produce construction bid documents, but to determine, based on the building being a "slab-on-grade" building, if renovations are possible, what those renovation options might be and cost estimate for future design and construction.
