Description
Specifications The Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) as a prime contractor to the U.S. Department of Energy is seeking businesses to provide an Evaporator Feed Pump (Vertical Turbine Type) for use in nuclear environment, at the Hanford Washington Site. Pump Characteristics: Pump Type: Vertical Turbine, Bottom Suction, Top or Side Discharge. Pump discharge to connect to 2-inch diameter discharge piping or hose. Maximum Outer Diameter - 11.5-inches desired. All wetted materials to be compatible with tank waste. Aluminum, brass, bronze, or copper shall not be used in areas where normal contact with fluid is expected. Pump components exposed to the fluid environment may be constructed of carbon steel. Polymers shall be suitable for use in a radiation environment. Minimum depth of submergence required for pump operation shall be 11 inches. The height of the pump and motor above the underside of the pump flange plate shall not exceed 49 inches. The pump length below the pump flange plate shall be 45 feet 2 38 inches. Pump must be capable of operating continuously at minimal fluid submergence. Mechanical type seals or packing not permitted. Pump shall not require supplemental fluids or gas for lubrication or sealing. Pump shall be designed to be free draining and shall be provided with an anti-reverse rotation device. •· The quality level is designated as "enhanced" with NQA-1 2004 requirements on page 17 of the SPEC. •· The responders need to be experienced in design, fabrication, and testing of pumps to be used in a nuclear environment. •· Have the ability to do in house performance testing and ability to re-design and modify if necessary should the units testing reveal unacceptable results. Electrical (as applicable): All Electrical Equipment must be listed or labeled by a NRTL. Electric motor to be 480V, 3-Phase, 60 Hz, 30 HP, be totally enclosed fan cooled, without sparking contacts. Pump to be operated by combination motor starter Interested Firms are invited to submit an expression of interest letter to include a response to the following: •1.) A description of their system/technical approach •2.) A description of your QA program •3.) A rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost estimate for all components •4.) A ROM schedule and any qualifying conditions for meeting the schedule
