- Description
- This firm fixed price award is against a previously existing multiple award SABER IDIQ contract competed under the 8(a) set-a-side program. The contractor shall perform all services necessary to accomplish complete and functional installation of the proposed project. The work shall be accomplished in accordance with the SABER contract specification, associated drawings and additional requirements of the task order statement of work. REQUIREMENT: The Contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment and incidentals necessary to repair screens erected around HTHW Valves and dumpster enclosures. There are five valve screens that will require the complete removal of Vinyl Panel/CMU Column screens and replacing with CMU Block screens. There are 11 Dumpsters screen that will reuire the removal of vinyl fencing panels. Some of the dumpster screens have block/brick pilasters that will need to be removed.Work will include demolition, excavation, backfill, compaction, concrete work, and block work. Major items of work shall consist of: Dumpster Screens Demo : Remove and dispose of existing vinyl fence panels and CMU/Brick pilasters. On dumpster screens 4 - 8 the existing corner CMU block will remain and new CMU block will be tied into them. Dumpster Screens New : Dowell rebar into existing concrete pads being carefull to not penetrate bottom of concrete. Construct screen of nominal 8'X8"X16" Splitface (outside face) CMU block. Place 9 gauge horizontal truss reinforcement every other row. There will be (3) continuos bondbeams with 2 each #5 rebar and one #5 vertical rebar at 32" O.C. with concrete filled cells. Screens will be 11 blocks high for a height of 7'4". Revision 1: Once constructed the CMU block is to receive two coats of waterproofing sealent. Valve Screens Demo : Remove and dispose of existing vinyl fence panels and CMU/Brick pilasters to include footings. Excavate as needed for new footer and ensure that new footer will be below existing grade. Valve Screens New : Prep area for new grade beam. Compact sub base and cover with 6" of compacted base course. At all valve screens ensure a barrier is maintained between bottom of concrete footing and top of High Temp Hot Water (HTHW) line vault. Use void forms where structurally feasible, polyethelene foamboard where void forms are not feasible. Concrete footer will be 2' wide and 1' high and run continuosly around perimeter. Construct screen of nominal 8'X8"X16" Splitface (outside face) CMU block. Place 9 gauge horizontal truss reinforcement every other row. There will be (3) continuos bondbeams with 2 each #5 rebar and one #5 vertical rebar at 32" O.C. with concrete filled cells. Install 4' vinyl gate in opening as shown on attached drawings. Backfill as needed. Sod area or replace river gravel around new screen. Revision 1: Once constructed the CMU block is to receive two coats of waterproofing sealent.
