Description
The AFRL/RWGG, Eglin Air Force Base, Valparaiso, Florida is conducting a Sources Sought Synopsis for market research purposes. Background: The 5 Axis FMS located in the Kinetic Kill Vehicle Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulator (KHILS) is a large hydraulically driven motion platform for testing guided weapon systems. The system is driven by hydraulic fluid that moves actuators. The actuators have shaft seals and face seals to keep the fluid from leaking around the shafts and into the bearing races. The seals on both of the yaw actuators appear to be failing. This is evidenced by the bearing packing grease being pushed out around the shafts which is normally caused by hydraulic fluid seeping into the bearings. As the problem progresses, hydraulic fluid will begin to leak out of the actuators. The repair for this problem involves removing the actuators, disassembly, replacement of the seals, reassembly of the actuators and reinstallation on the FMS. Requested Work: Field service to refurbish actuators for the yaw axis on the Carco Five-Axis FMS Work will consist of the following:  Replace seals/o-rings for actuators (and rotary joints, if needed) for the following axes of the FMS: o Inner Yaw-readout side o Outer Yaw-opposite side of readout  Provide field service personnel to complete on-site repair of the FMS axes listed herein.  Price will include travel, travel time, local trasnportation, lodging and subsistence. Interested parties with the ability to satisfy the minimum requirements should submit corporate information to include commercial brochures and/or technical capabilities of the proposed system. This is not a solicitation announcement and this notice does not constitute any commitment by the Government. Responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions for future requirements.
