Description
The Gifford Pinchot National Forest is soliciting prospective contractors to secure services to accomplish a nurse log and streambank stabilization river project. The Contractor shall provide all equipment, operators, and labor for construction of watershed habitat restoration structures on the floodplain of the Muddy River. Work includes excavating one side channel and installing and constructing log complexes to stabilize streambanks and provide planting area for conifer trees. Operators can propose any type of equipment meeting the minimum size requirements outlined in the solicitation (skidder and excavator). Contract time is 20 days after the date of Notice to Proceed with an estimated start work date of July 5, 2009. The NAICS code for this project is 115310 with a corresponding size standard of $7.0 Million. This project is set-aside 100% for Small Business concerns. The estimated date of issuance for the solicitation is June 5, 2009 with offers due on June 23, 2009. A single contract will be awarded to the offeror presenting the best value to the Forest Service based upon evaluation factors including but not limited to: experience; past performance and price. Prospective contractors and subcontractors are requested to self-register below to receive notification of any postings concerning this project. The solicitation, and any amendments, will be made available at this internet site. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered by the Forest Service.

Place of Performance
Address: Project work site is located approximately 40 miles N.E. of Amboy, Washington. In Township 7N, Range 6E Sections 1 and 2 and in Township 8N, Range 6E Section 35. The project can be located by traveling northeast of Amboy on Highway 503 and continuing until the road turns into Forest Road 90. Continue for approximately 12 miles and bear left onto Forest Road 25 and follow for approximately 5 miles until you cross the Muddy River. Continue another 0.5 miles and park at the Muddy River Picnic Site. The road is 200 feet north of the Picnic site and it has a temporary closure on it, so you must proceed on foot for approximately 1 mile. This is the start of the project work site. All material is stockpiled near the end of this road. The project worksite continues upstream for another 3/4 miles from this location, and downstream to the bridge on the 25 road., Amboy, Washington, 98601, United States
