RECOVERY ACT) The National Institute of Aging (NIA), IRP, intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a competitive basis for the purchase of the following equipment listed below under Simplified Acquisition procedures. This notice may represent the only official notice.Lecia CM1950 Cryostat-Pre-configured systems-With Vacuum extractor-With specimen temperature control-110-120V/60HzLeica CM1950 Configuration USA 120 V/60 Hz with cryochamber and specimen cooling, deactivable specimen retraction, certified UVC disinfection, Ag Protect nanosilver coating, vacuum system, disposable blade holder CE Instrument features:Freestanding cryostat with encapsulated, splash-proof microtome.Spacious, stainless cryochamber, with antiglare illumination. Easy to clean and disinfect.Heated, removable sliding window.Stable, self-contained cryocabinet on rollers.Collection container for condensing water at front of instrument.Outer surfaces and controls of instrument coated withAgProtect nanosilver coating to reduce risk of infection. Handwheel manually lockable in two positions. Easy to handle and stable clamping system for clamping the specimen discs, 8XY specimen orientation with zero point reference.Specimen retraction for manual mode of operation, (20 um) can be switched off.Certified UVC disinfection: 30- and 180-minute cycles can be selected. Disinfection can be aborted at any time, if work needs to be resumed immediately. Automatic safety cut-off of disinfection cycle when sliding window is opened. Vacuum system for stretching the sections and for removal of section debris, with saving integrated filter system and bacteria filter on the outside of the instrument.Twin compressor cooling system for cryochamber and specimen head. Cooling system with safety pressure control. Specimen temperature selectable from 10 degrees C to 50 C 1 steps.Cryochamber temperature selectable from 0 C to C, 5K, adjustable in 1K increments atambient temperature of 20 c. Easy to clean, actively cooled specimen preparation zone with quick-freezing shelf for up to 15 specimens (temperature selection down to -42 degrees C) plus 2 Peltier element freezing stations (temperature down to 52 degrees C) with manual defrost cycle. Cryochamber defrosted via automatic hot-gas defrosting once every 24 hrs, programmable in 15-minutes incriments. Manual defrosting of cryochamber, quick freezing shelf with integrated Peltier elements and specimen head with acoustic warning signal to prevent unintentional defrosting. Manual defrost cycle for Chamber and quick-freezing shelf with Peltier elements: 12 minutes; for specimen head: 15 minutes. Low maintenance microtome with cross roller guides. Reproducible high-quality thin sections via stepper motor specimen feed. Section thickness selection from outside the cryochamber. The solicitation number is NIHAG2009081 and is issued as a request for Quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions clauses are those in which the FAR has amended to incorporate for use in Recovery Act actions FAR subpart 5.7 for pre-solicitation and award notices.
