- On or about May 29, 2009, the National Park Service will be issuing an Invitation for Bid to construction firms having the capability to perform the work described below. This solicitation will be issued electronically (paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available) on the Department of Interior's National Business Center (NBC) website at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. Solicitation documents will be available in Microsoft Word, HTML, TIFF and Adobe PDF formats. Bidders wishing to receive electronic notification of changes will need to register to receive notification of this specific solicitation at http//ideasec.nbc.gov. This service is provided for convenience only and does not serve as a guarantee of notification. Plan holders will be required to visit this website periodically to check for amendments and other changes to the contract documents. No other notification will be sent.The NAICS code and size standard for this procurement are 238350 and $14.0 million. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Only one award shall be made. The estimated time for completion is 90 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. Sealed bid procedures will be used for this solicitation. The solicitation will be issued unrestricted pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program (FAR Part 19.10). A firm-fixed price contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder submitting a bid that conforms to the Invitation for Bid, considering only price and price-related factors. A pre-bid site visit may be held (see solicitation package for time and date of scheduled visit). All questions must be in writing and may be submitted to Gettysburg National Military Park, Administration-Karen Umstot, 1000 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg, PA, 17325. Fax number is (717) 334-6871. Telephone requests will not be accepted. Requests being sent via mail must contain a verifiable return address or they will not be opened. A bid opening date has not been established at this time. Scope of work:The Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, labor, and supervision to remove existing and replace doors at the following locations located within Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site, 110 Federal Park Road, Gallitzin, PA 16641: Replacement of Doors at Park Visitor CenterThe Contractor shall provide selective demolition of existing exterior wooden French doors (2), hardware and frame at building main entrance; selective demolition of vestibule wooden double French door hardware; selective demolition of West elevation single wooden French door/frame/hardware; replacement with in kind white oak French entrance doors (3), frames (2-white oak) and all hardware; finish to match existing materials finish; sealants and clean up. Replacement of Doors at Park HeadquartersThe Contractor shall provide selective demolition of existing main entrance wooden French door (1), hardware and frame, exterior side lites (2) and transom at building main entrance; selective demolition of East elevation wooden double French doors (2), frame, hardware and fixed glazed multi-lite panels (6); replacement with in kind white oak doors (3), white oak side lites (2), white oak transom, white oak frames (2), white oak fixed glazed multi-lite panels (6) and all hardware; finish to match existing materials finish; sealants and clean up. Replacement of Doors at Maintenance FacilityThe Contractor shall provide selective demolition of existing steel doors (2-sets of double doors), hardware and frames at building main entrance; replacement with in kind steel doors (2-sets of double doors), frames (2) and all hardware; finish to match existing materials finish; sealants and clean up. Replacement of Doors at Resource Management Building The Contractor shall provide selective demolition of existing steel door (1), frame and hardware at building main entrance; replacement with in kind steel door (1), frame and all hardware; finish to match existing materials finish; sealants and clean up. Replacement of Doors at Amphitheater BuildingThe Contractor shall provide selective demolition of existing double steel doors (2), frame and hardware at east elevation, one each single steel doors, frames and hardware at north and west elevations; replacement with in kind steel doors (4), frames (3) and all hardware; finish to match existing materials finish; sealants and clean up.
