Description

We intend to make a sole source award for a xenon-arc weathering apparatus system built by: Atlas Materials Testing Solutions 4114 North Ravenswood Avenue Chicago, IL 60613 We require the ability to conduct xenon-arc accelerated weathering tests according to the following standards: •ASTM G155: Standard Practice for Operating Xenon Arc Light Apparatus for Exposure of Non-Metallic Materials •ASTM D2565: Standard Practice for Xenon-Arc Exposure of Plastics Intended for Outdoor Applications •ASTM D6662: Standard Specification for Polyolefin-Based Plastic Lumber Decking Boards •ASTM D6695: Standard Practice for Xenon-Arc Exposures of Paint and Related Coatings In addition, our requirements include an apparatus that has the physical configuration of a center light source with samples mounted on a drum that rotates around the light source to ensure test repeatability and uniformity of exposure. We require high sample capacity, the ability to weather at least 87 test samples that are 3 in. by 6 in. simultaneously. We also require the capability of running at high acceleration factors, such as 2 suns, requiring the use of a 12,000 watt lamp. Finally, we require the ability to upgrade the system to full-spectrum monitoring in the future. The Ci-5000 system will include the weathering apparatus, specimen holders, supply package, customer care program, and workshop registration. Part numbers are in parentheses. 1) Ci-5000 Weather-Ometer (00000726) •Full color 10.4” touch screen control panel display of all test parameters •Direct setting and control of irradiance (340 nm) •Direct setting and control of black panel temperature •Direct setting and control of relative humidity •Direct setting and control of specimen chamber air temperature (dry bulb) •Display of diagnostic messages •Pre-programmed test methods and space for 12 custom programs •English capability •SmartDamper (TM) to reduce test variability in chamber temperature and humidity and compensate for changes in ambient laboratory conditions •SmartLight monitor (TM) to verify the correct light capsule is installed •Streaming data output •Air heater •Main power disconnect switch •Xenon lamp cooling system •Air intake dust filter •Specimen rack with spray •Water purity indicator with alarm •Calibrated xenon reference lamp •Chamber viewing window in door •Test chamber of 316 stainless steel •Universal electrical configurations to meet local frequency, voltage, and electrical requirements •Meets CE, UL, ISO, EN, and CSA compliance 2) Specimen holders for 3x6 panel 3T-ISR (19188501) 3) 4000 Hour Supply Package for Ci-5000 (21000166) •2 Demineralizing cartridges •2 Water fitting gaskets •2 Burner gaskets •1 Air filter •2 12,000 Watt Xenon burners •10 Inner Type S boro filters •2 Outer Type S boro filters •2 Burner sockets 4) 1-year customer care program (90000031) •Start-up and demonstration by a factory trained technician who will inspect, start-up, and demonstrate the capabilities of the Ci-5000 •30/60/90 day follow-up during which Atlas provides contact to ensure proper operation and satisfaction •6 and 12 month preventative maintenance and calibration during which time an Atlas technician will inspect the Ci-5000 and perform detailed preventative maintenance and calibration functions •Parts replacement of non-consumable required parts 5) Workshop (90000012) •Provide one complimentary registration for a Ci-5000 workshop including breakfast, lunch, refreshments, and course materials. Delivery shall be accomplished within _84_ calendar days after the contract is executed. Any system proposed shall have the equivalent or better salient qualities as those associated with the Ci-5000 xenon-arc weathering system listed above. If your equipment does not meet this requirements do not solicit an evaluation.
