Description
This Sources Sought Notice Number AG-84N8-S-09-0073 is issued by the US Forest Service in performing market research to determine industry interest and capabilities. This is a request for information announcement only. This is not a solicitation or request for proposal and in no way commits the Government to award a contract. The Government does not intend to award a contract(s) based solely on the submission of this Request for Information nor does it intend to pay for any costs incurred in response to this announcement. The US Forest Service reserves the right to terminate this request and change its requirements if needed. Responding to this notice does not guarantee participation in future activities. The US Forest Service is issuing this sources sought as part of market research for the Cascade Falls Trail Project. The contractor involves reconstruction and repair, as needed, along the existing Cascade Falls Trail #32055 (approximately 3,000 feet), on the Cedar City Ranger District, Dixie National Forest, Utah. Work includes trail bed restoration, rolling dip construction, removal of existing timber structures, stream ford construction, timber crib wall and step construction, puncheon construction, observation deck construction, and excavation in mineral soil and bedrock. Blasting may be necessary on some sections of reconstruction and construction. Helicopters and rock drills are approved for the mobilization of equipment and materials and for blasting on this project. Completion of an Aviation Schedule will be required and the responsibility of the Contractor. For restrictions on helicopters, blasting, and other motorized trail construction equipment. The US Forest Service is seeking/targeting qualified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses, HUBZone Small Businesses, SBA 8(a) Disadvantaged Small Businesses or any other small business that have the capability to complete the above requirements. The NAICS Code is for Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction 237310 a small business would not average $33.5 in the last three years.
