Description
The U.S. Forest Service, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest is soliciting SBA Certified HubZone contractors to provide all labor, material, equipment, tools, supervision and expertise for: Constructing a new fire station, driveways and necessary utilities for the building. Utility work includes connecting to the existing water and electrical systems; installing a new onsite wastewater system, including sewerline, septic tank, dosing tank and mound drainfield; and installing a new propane storage tank, constructing a concrete slab and connecting service to the building. Optional bid items include furnishing and installing a vehicle exhaust system, ice machine, refrigerator and flagpole with concrete slab. PROJECT LOCATION: The project is near the Turtle Rock Campground located approximately three miles North of Markleeville, California on Highway 89 in Alpine County. Solicitation, (Request for Proposals), will be available at this website on or about March 18, 2009. The technical point of contact for Project information is Natalie Little, nlittle@fs.fed.us, (775) 352-1265. Proposals will be due to the Contracting Officer no later than 3:30 PM Pacific time on April 20, 2009. There will be a pre-offer/bid site visit and walk through at 2:00 PM Local time on March 23, 2009 on-site. Estimated magnitude of the procurement is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 Further information on Hubzone requirements may be found in the Federal Acquisition Regulations clause which will appear in the solicitation. The clause is 52.219-3. A Hubzone business is defined as a small business concern that appears on the List of Qualified HUBZone Small Business Concerns maintained by the Small Business Administration. Once awarded, at least 15 percent of the cost of the contract performance incurred for personnel will be spent on the concern's employees or the employees of other HUBZone small business concerns.
