Description

ONLY WRITTEN REQUESTS FOR COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION WILL BE HONORED. IMPORTANT: TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL NOT BE HONORED. The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools, and supervision to replace chimney caps on 30 units of Upper Government Hill Housing at USCG Integrated Support Command, KODIAK, ALASKA. The work includes, but is not limited to demolition and removal of existing chimney chase and stack cap with stainless steel components. Remove enough material to determine the extent or if water intrusion has damaged components in the chase framing. Once damage has been noted by the Government Inspector, rebuild chase to original dimensions. Follow NRCA guidelines for flashing if the chimney needs to be replaced all the way to the roof. Drawing will be available for purposes of specific detailing of work. Contractor is responsible for field verification of all material sizes and quantities necessary for the complete installation of this project before quoting. Contractor shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to water, air, and noise pollution. Contract dollar amount is estimated to be under $100,000. Contractor will be selected based on the lowest price technically accepted. The proposed contract is a small business set aside. All responsible sources that submit a written quotation will be considered. GOVERNMENT FURNISHED MATERIALS: None. Performance Period is 30-60 days. SUBMITTALS DUE UPON AWARD may include but are not limited to: manufacturer catalogs, standard schedules, performance charts, instructions, brochures, diagrams, etc., in addition to references and qualifications. Lack of adequacy of references shall be at the sole discretion of the Government and may constitute grounds for disqualification. CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH requirements of: applicable Coast Guard Safety Regulations. ADDITIONAL SPECIFICATIONS OR REQUIREMENTS ARE CONTAINED IN STATEMENT OF WORK THAT WILL BE INCLUDED WITH REQUEST FOR QUOTE DOCUMENTS WHEN THEY ARE ISSUED ON APPROXIMATELY MAY 11, 2009. A SITE VISIT WILL BE HELD MAY 28, 2009 APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS BEFORE QUOTE IS DUE. (Site visits are not mandatory, but are highly encouraged.) Location: U.S. Coast Guard, Integrated Support Command, Kodiak, Alaska. Estimated price is $50,000 - $100,000.
