- This project includes all work associated with the Fire Protection/Life Safety Upgrade, George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Houston, Texas Project generally consists of all work necessary to improve the architectural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems to comply with OSHA regulations. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: a. Application of spray-on fireproofing materials to protect structural steel within shafts.b. Fire stopping existing and/or newly made through penetrations or openings through fire resistance rated walls, floors, soffit, etc.c. Application of intumescent paint to underside of hatch on cable access level.d. Fire stopping all construction joints within the electrical shaft.e. Repair/corrections to existing fire resistance rated ceiling space on level 3.f. Replacement of existing nonrated elevator shaft hatch in cable access level with new fire resistance rated hatch and hardware.g. Replacement/repair of shaft liner panels within elevator hoist way to repair the existing 2-hour fire resistance rating of the shaft.h. Conversion of the existing preaction sprinkler systems to wet pipe sprinkler systems.i. Install new fire alarm system within the ATCT portion of the facility.j. Testing, adjusting and balancing of the existing stair pressurization system and vestibule exhaust system.k. Replacement of existing flexible duct and encapsulation with fire resistance rated duct wrap on level three.l. Installation of fire resistance rated duct wrap on cable access level.m. Removal of combustible foam sealant on all floor penetrations.n. Training for personnel assigned by the FAA. Time: 90 Calendar Days Estimated Cost: Between $200,000 - $600,000 NACI: 238210 Size Standards: $14.0 Million This is a TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE project. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
