Description

The James H Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home, Tennessee, is seeking the services of a qualified Architectural Engineering (A/E) firm to design Project 621-318 IRM Consolidation/Expansion. Project will convert 7300 sq ft of Building 77 3rd Floor into an IRM department. Construction work to include but is not limited to some mild demolition, new walls/doors, new ceilings where required, new electrical/plumbing/HVAC, new Smart boards in conference room area, all required finish work, and any other security elements that may be required by this project. AE work to include but is not limited to preliminary and final contract drawings, phasing plan, specifications, cost estimates, 3D conceptual and final renderings, and construction period services. AE will be required to develop bid alternate of 25% as necessary to assure award of contract within funds available. The objective of project is to consolidate/expand IRM. The area will be used as office space for all IRM employees, conference room, training are, support area, supply area, shipping and receiving, and staging area. Project is to be complete within 120 calendar days after award. Construction Cost range is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Area of AE consideration is limited to a 300 mile radius of the James H Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home, TN 37684. Firms desiring consideration must submit THREE copies of SF 330, not later than 2:00 PM CT, June 9, 2009. This procurement is 100% set aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. The SDVOB must be small under NAICS 541330 code and must be registered and verified in the following websites: www.vip.vetbiz.gov www.ccr.gov https://orca.bpn.gov and https://vets100.vets.dol.gov/ to be eligible for award. AEs must ensure their registrations are updated, correct, and have not expired. Small business size standard is $4.5 million. Contract award is subject to the availability of VA funds. A/E Selection criteria will include: 1) Professional qualifications necessary for performance of required services; 2) specialized experience and technical competence of the A/E firm with similar type projects; 3) past performance on contracts with Government agencies; 4) Location of A/E firm; 5) experience and roles of key design personnel, specifically on related projects; 6) cost control and estimating effectiveness. This is not a request for proposal. THREE copies of SF 330 should be mailed to Sherri-Lyn Teeters, Department of Veterans Affairs, 1639 Medical Center Parkway, Suite 400, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. AES MUST SUBMIT JOINT VENTURE AGREEMENTS WITH THEIR SF 330s.
