Description

THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE TO CONTRACTORS UNDER THE NAVFAC WASHINGTON 8(a) MUTIPLE AWARD CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT (MACC). Title: REPAIR HVAC SYSTEM (BLDG. 900) PROJECT NUMBER RM10-01 The intent of this project is to replace the existing HVAC system at building 900. Work includes but is not limited to the following; Remove the chiller system and two air-handling units and their associated equipment, split systems, and the roof top units (RTU) for comfort air and their associated equipment. Provide new chiller system with variable air volume (VAV) and Direct Digital Control (DDC) for all comfort air areas, except computer test bed and SCIF areas. The building has three (3) different HVAC areas; the personnel areas; the computer test bed areas; and the SCIF area(s). The HVAC in computer test bed and SCIF areas are still relatively new and sufficient. The 100-ton water chiller provides chilled water for the HVAC in the personnel areas was installed in 1979. It's very old and insufficient. The Government has attempted to resolve the problem by installing many roof top units and split systems. The systems, however, are prone to HVAC failures.
