- Project ScopeProject 652-07-107, USP 797 Pharmacy Upgrade The H.H. McGuire VAMC in Richmond, VA is seeking the services of a qualified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business to provide all labor, materials and equipment for the renovation of the Richmond VAMC hospital pharmacy per contract drawings and specifications. This construction project will renovate and modify existing areas to comply with USP 797 Pharmaceutical Compounding - Sterile Preparation standards along with improving efficiencies and workflow. This scope of work includes architectural, electrical, structural, plumbing and mechanical. Mechanical improvements will require a new unit, controls and monitoring. Specifics: The project involves removal of asbestos containing materials, replacement and new HVAC components, new controls and distribution systems, ceiling systems, lighting, casework, finishes and other interior design elements. Each item will be addressed through a two phase process. Phase One includes: Remodel current patient room, 5C-102 on the fifth (5th) floor, to operate as an Ante Room and Chemotherapy preparation space. Provide proper hood venting to exterior from the Chemotherapy Prep. area and new air handling unit with controls to meet ISO Class requirements. Phase Two includes: Modification of an area within the pharmacy, and the relocation of an existing IV hood to create a temporary IV compounding area. Renovation of the existing pharmacy IV compounding area to create a USP compliant clean room. Area to be physically separated from the pharmacy proper to provide an ISO Class 8 Anteroom and an ISO Class 7 sterile prep area. The internal chemo prep area shall be constructed with a physical separation between the Anteroom and Sterile Prep with specified air changes and pressure differentials. All work shall be completed within 225 calendar days after date of receipt of notice to proceed. This includes final inspection and cleanup. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238220 with a small business size standard of $13,000,000. The estimated dollar amount is between is between $250,000 and $500,000. The specifications will be uploaded as part of the solicitation on/about May 18, 2009. A date and time for a pre-bid/walkthrough will be stated in the solicitation. The RFP deadline will be on/about June 18, 2009. The deadline for receipt of questions is one week prior to the bid opening. To be qualified to bid on this project, firms must be classified as SDVOSB-owned firms and registered in the Central Contractor Registry and Vet Biz, prior to award. The Online Representations and Certifications must be completed by each bidder prior to the bid opening.
