Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation from the National Park Service, Southeast Region. This is a Total Small Business Set Aside Procurement. This requirement is for commercial services This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number Q54300K0020 is issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for firms having the capability to perform the work described below:This work consists of performing shipyard services on the National Park Service crew boat "Sumters Pride", a 36 ft. twin diesel powered, aluminum hull vessel. The work consists of two (2) bid items, which should be bid, or quoted, individually. The vessel is located at Sullivan's Island S.C., and is available for inspection Monday thru Friday during normal business hours. Bid Item #1:Haul out, clean, scrape as necessary, and recoat the area below the waterline with International Paint Co. Micron-44 anti foul paint, as per the paint manufacturer specifications. Color black, one (1) coat. Sand and spot prime as necessary the exterior sides, transom, pilot house, crew cabin, decks, and rails from the waterline to the masthead. Apply two (2) coats of high quality gloss marine paint to these areas following the current paint scheme. Sides, pilot house, mast, crew cabin, and transom to be gloss white. Rails and agency sash to be forest green. Decks to be medium gray. Name and agency to be gloss black. Contractor to submit forest green color to FSNM for approval before painting. Replace all zinc anodes. Remove and replace both propellers. FSNM will provide the replacement props. Repair the damaged starboard quarter rail. Bid Item #2:Remove and replace both propeller shafts, and the four (4) propeller shaft (cutlass) bearings. There are two (2) propeller shaft (cutlass) bearings in each propeller shaft log, on this vessel. Conduct an on the water test run after shafts and bearing replacement. FSNM boat captain to participate in this test run.The solicitation number is 54300K0020 and is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). All responsive offerors must submit a proposal, which include past performance of previous similar work performed. All quotations must include sufficient information to this office for possible consideration and must be received via mail (NO FAX COPIES WILL BE ACCEPTED) to the National Park Service, 1924 Building, 100 Alabama Street, Atlanta, GA 30303 by May 21, 2009 by 3:00 p.m. eastern standard time.
