Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Marion, IL, VA Medical Center, is conducting market research to determine if there are enough qualified Specialty Trade Construction firms to support a special Small Business competitive set-aside in accordance with Public Law (PL) 1009-461, Section 502 and 503, as codified in 38 U.S.C. Section 8127, as a TOTAL SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN-OWNED SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. All Interested SDVOSB Specialty Trade (Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning)Construction concerns must be currently registered in: CCR at http://www.ccr.gov/ ; in ORCA at https://orca.bpn.gov/ ; and in VetBiz Registry at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/. In accordance with FAR 36.204 and VAAR 836.204, the estimated magnitude of this construction project is: Between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this project is: 238220, Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors; with a Small Business Size Standard: $14.0 Million. The project scope consists of: Specialty Trade Construction Services for NRM Project No. 657A5-08-105, Air-Oxygen-Vacuum Upgrades, at the Marion, IL, VAMC. This project is for correction of known deficiencies in the Medical Gases Systems. Work will include zoning valves to allow better building isolation and interconnection between systems. The planned time period for issuing this solicitation is in May of 2009, with a resulting award in June of 2009. Qualified Specialty Construction firms, eligible for one of the above-listed set-aside categories, are encouraged to respond to this Sources Sought announcement. This information will help provide Small Business market information to assist in planning for the method of procurement. When responding, please provide the following information: 1.
