- Description
- FOR TECHNICAL QUESTIONS PLEASE CONTACT Wai Wong at Wai.K.Wong1@us.army.mil DESC This is a SSA to identify additional sources that can provide the Lateral Accelerometer, part of the UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopters Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS). The AFCS is an electro-hydro mechanical system that provides inputs to the flight controls, which assists the pilot in maneuvering and handling the aircraft. The Lateral Accelerometer provides oscillation damping (dynamic stability), and maintains desired altitude, speed, and heading (static stability). The Government is planning to award a Five Year IDIQ with an approximate procurement quantity of 650 units per year. The only current source for the Lateral Accelerometer is BEI Technologies, Inc. (BEI), Precision Systems & Space Division, 1100 Murphy Drive, Maumelle, Arkansas 72113. CAGE is 12050. The current Lateral Accelerometer provided by BEI is identified by NSN 6680-01-326-8168, BEI PN 4384A-2-P63A. Detailed technical data for the manufacture or acceptance of the Lateral Accelerometer are not available from the Army. Any sources interested in the proposed action must be able to demonstrate that they can provide form, fit, and function replacements to currently procured Lateral Accelerometer. Additionally, Airworthiness Release (AWR) is required before equipment can be used on Army aircraft. AWR involves environmental, electromagnetic interference, and flight testing. Interested sources must provide information to verify that their items have obtained the required AWR from the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, or details of when an AWR is anticipated to be received. Additionally, provide information on your production lead time, as well as the status of your production line. If you do not have an operational production line provide information on how long it would take to establish an operational production line. Sources capable of providing the required items are required to provide their written input to the U.S. Army CECOM LCMC, ATTN: AMSEL-LC-CCS-N-AC, Building 1200E, Fort Monmouth, NJ 07703-5000. This SSA does not obligate the Government to award a contract. No telephone responses will be accepted, only responses in writing will be considered. This information can be emailed to the Governments points of contact as follows: Man Moy at Man.Moy@us.army.mil and Wai Wong at Wai.K.Wong1@us.army.mil. This SSA is for informational purposes only and is not a Request for Proposals. The deadline for response to this notice is 15 May 2009. EMAIL: Man.Moy@us.army.mil and Wai.K.Wong1@us.army.mil
