Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake intends to issue a three month extension to contract N68936-04-D-0003 for Contractor Engineering Technical Services (CETS) support for the C9 aircraft on a sole source basis to Lockheed Martin Services, Inc. 107 Frederick Street, Greenville SC 29607, in support of Naval Air Technical Data and Engineering Service Command (NATEC). The extension will cover the period from 01 June through 31 August 2009 inclusive. Lockheed Martin Services, Inc., is the developer and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the equipment to be supported. This effort includes instructing and training DoD personnel in the operation and maintenance of the C-9 aircraft and associated support equipment. Employees working for the OEM are the only individuals who have access to current proprietary technical data and who are capable of resolving complex maintenance and technical problems. Lockheed Martin Services, Inc is the only source available with the requisite data and specific technical support personnel knowledgeable of this equipment. No other firm possesses the required data and expertise on this equipment. This extension is intended to allow su! fficient time for a follow-on contract to be procured without a break in service. A follow-on contract is in process and it is anticipated that the follow-on contract will be awarded in July 2009. See Notes (22, 26).
