Description
This project is 100% set-aside for small business! The purpose of this Request for offers is to seek competent and qualified contractors to perform construction of the Antenna Tower Foundation in Yakutat, AK. Yakutat is approximately 400 miles SE of Anchorage, AK and 200 miles NW of Juneau, AK. The Work to be performed under this contract includes but is not limited all labor, material, equipment, transportation and shipping necessary to perform earthwork, site grading, surfacing; a driven pile foundation system consisting of piling, pile caps, grade beams, base slab, and anchor bolts. Contractor must perform pile load test and material testing. Also included are a fuel tank foundation; construction of the dewatering system and an earth electrode system (EES).Separate contracts have been awarded to Yakutat Power and Alaska Communication Service to construct electrical and communications lines to support the future facility. Work must be coordinated with these utility providers. There will be one mandatory site visit, currently planned Tuesday, for May 19, 2009. The construction site is adjacent to Yakutat Airport, which is accessible by commercial air service. A separate contract for construction of ATCBI Tower is planned for award during the fall of 2009. Estimated Range of Construction: $500,000 to $1,000,000NAICS Code: 236220 The solicitation is attached to this announcement at http://faaco.faa.gov. Any amendments will be posted there as well. Submission of Offer: Offers are due on May 28, 2009 at 4:00 pm (PDST). Emailed or faxed offers will be accepted. Originals must be received within 5 calendar days after offer due date. Please see Section "L" of the Request for Offers for complete proposal submission information. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
