- Description
- Under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), the VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center anticipates entering into sole source procurement negotiations with Barrx Medical Inc for VAC Halo System for the VA Medical Center located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Their item will enable the VA to treat Barrett's Esophagus using RF ablation. Barrx Medical Inc. BARRX Medical is the only FDA approved manufacturer of RF ablation devices for the treatment of Barrett's Esophagus. This announcement is for the online access for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by supplies available from one source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by 7 May 2009 at 1600hrs. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement. All interest received on or before the closing of the intent to sole source will be evaluated by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation document is available.
