Description
Under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, the U.S. Army, REDCOM, CC, Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the Joint Program Executive Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD), Joint Project Manager, Decontamination (JPM-Decon) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order to the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), 2111 Wilson Blvd, Suite 400, Arlington, VA 22201-3061. JPM-Decon will be participating in the 2009 Joint CBRN Conference and Exhibition at Fort Leonard Wood (FLW) from 23-25 June 2009. In order to demonstrate the newest and latest decontamination technology to the Warfighter, JPM-Decon has a requirement for NDIA to provide support services in the nature of 1) shipping equipment to FLW from the country of origin; 2) storing equipment until the conference start date of 22 June 2009; 3) displaying the equipment and providing space for demonstrations during the conference; and 4) transporting the equipment to the designated storage area after the conference which ends on 26 June 2009. NDIA has been contracted to organize the Joint CBRN Conference and Exhibition. NDIA is the only source that has the requisite access to the base and display areas during the time in question. As such, the purchase order is being awarded to NDIA on a sole-source basis. Questions concerning this acquisition may be addressed to the above address, Attention: Mr. Richard R. Alves, Jr. (AMSRD-ACC-NS) or to richard.alves@us.army.mil. This synopsis expires 5 May 2009 at 0900 local (Natick, MA) time.
