Description
The Office of Plant and Dairy Foods, Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition has a need for a commercial scale ultrasonic processing unit. The 4kW unit must be particularly effective for continuous operation. It will be controlled by a microprocessor and equipped with an LCD status display as well as for external control signals. The system must be able to operate under extreme operation conditions such as dust, dirt, temperature and humidity. The sonotrode must be effective on applications such as agricultural washing/sanitization. Power efficiency of real energy into the product must be 85% conversion. The unit must be easily retrofitted to existing plant equipment via antivibrational flange so that energy goes through the sonotrode to the product and not into the pipes, valves, vessels, etc. The system must have automatic resonance frequency tracking. Every food product has its own unique resonance frequency; therefore the unit must automatically lock onto this and re-scan every 0.1 of a second to find the new resonance frequency in case there are any changes in process condition such as temperature, pressure, viscosity, gas/air entrainment. The resonance frequency must allow you to work/operate at 85% energy efficiency. The unit must have built in sensors to report any change in process conditions to the generator so that the system never overloads.
