Description
The NAICS Code is 332995. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD), Port Hueneme, California intends to issue a Cost Plus Fixed Fee Order on a sole source basis to BAE Systems, Armament Systems Division, 163 Rochester Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40214-2683, under Basic Ordering Agreement Number N00024-07-G-5438. The contractor shall design and develop the following changes to the four aft GMS assemblies by adding an upper hand rail to the rail section behind Manual Operating Platform (MOP). The rail shall be 11" above the current top rail. Adding Toe Rails around the perimeter of the top of Aft GMS platform that meet OSHA requirements. Rotating the PORT GMS units' Ready Service Lockers (RSL) approximately ninety degrees to allow the door to fully swing open. Modify the platform as needed to rotate the RSL. Adding one additional safety chain from the top of the manual operating platform rail to the new top rail on the rail section behind the MOP.! Adding grounding straps from the RSL's to the RSL foundation on the Aft GMS structure. Adding a bracket to the inside of the GMS for securing the high security lock when it is removed from the hasp. Revising the Altered Item Drawing of the RSL to call out white paint on sun panels, remove sun panels from all four RSL's, have them bead blasted, primed, painted white, and re-installed. Design and procurement of hardware shall be completed within 80 days ARO. BAE is currently the only source providing these services for the MK38 MOD 2 OSV and MGS Blocking Vessel Installation Design Requirements, IAW T9001B capable of providing parts. BAE is the only source capable of providing these services in the future in a timely and cost efficient manner. BAE presently has unique knowledge, data and technical expertise regarding this equipment. Notes 22 & 26 apply.
