Description
J & A approval. The Strategic Systems Programs intends to contract with The Boeing Company, BCM3 & Strategic Systems, Anaheim, CA to provide the following efforts for the TRIDENT II (D5) Navigation Subsystem: (1) engineering support services and problem investigations for US and UK owned Electro statically Supported Gyro Navigator (ESGN) navigation inertial equipment, (2) modification, refurbishment, and repair of US and UK ESGN instruments and equipment, (3) refurbishment of stable platform housing, (4) TRIDENT II (D5) shipyard overhaul field engineering, (5) US Fleet Documentation, Surveillance Program, Training, Unique Identification database, TR-C5 Software SPALT, test station upgrades, and (6) long range navigation subsystem planning, and (7) design and development of ESG Network Board. The contract will contain both United States and United Kingdom sponsored efforts for FY09 and options for FY10 efforts. The Boeing Company is the only known source with the critical experience, expertise, personnel, facilities, and in-depth knowledge of the TRIDENT inertial navigation subsystem required to perform the subject effort. The contract will include an option provision to increase the level-of-effort items up to 30%. See Note 22!!
