Description
In accordance with AMS 3.2.2.5.1, public announcement is hereby given; The FAA has a requirement for processor upgrade. Please provide a quote to upgrade the current z890-A04 240 to the newly announced z10 Business Class (z10 BC) System Z processor. The z10 BC platform for providing the latest performance and technology in support of the FAA's application suites for both z/OS and zLinux running under z/VM. The upgrade plan is to modernize the FAA's current z890-240, s/n 5909D to an IBM 3-way z10 EC-K03 (292 MIPS) processor at the Tech Center in Atlantic City. At the FAA's direction downgrade the K03 to an I02 (163 MIPS) Upon completion of the contract the z10 BC upgrade the system configuration will have the following: - 40GB memory of customer usable memory - 2 IFLs (673 MIPS each) - 4 FICON Express LX ports - 60 ESCON ports - 4 OSA Express3 GbE LX ports - 8 OSA Express3 1000Base-T ports - Enhanced HMC - Crypto CPACF enablement feature - SCSI IPL feature - z/VM V5 License for the second IFL The price shall include shipping, installation and a 1-year warranty on the second IFL. The proposal should not include any additional z/VM utilities or a Linux license for the second IFL. The response to the request for offer is a binding offer, which is intended to become a binding contract/PO if/when it is signed by the CO. Those companies submitting an offer must also submit a capabilities statement, providing indication that they are able and authorized to fulfill this requirement.
